• CIO is the leading nonprofit organization for healthy living and community development in the Hialeah Gardens, FL.

• CIO is focused in improving the living conditions of underprivileged children and families, seniors and people with special needs, as well as to providing a variety of volunteering opportunities, to fulfill their legal and civic duties and to support underprivileged members of community.

• CIO provides services to residents of Miami-Dade County and Broward County.

• CIO strength is to provide onsite volunteering opportunities in Miami-Dade and Broward County, in addition to worldwide virtual volunteering opportunities.

• CIO has provided services to over 1600 members of our local communities, in providing provisions of food, rebuilding homes, small home repairs, emergency bill pay and housing, and provision of volunteering opportunities.

Past Project History

1. In October of 2009 our organization began a project for two low income senior citizens living in East Hialeah.

• We improved the lack of wheel chair accessibility in the home by repairing a wheel chair ramp that was previously installed and we also repaired the floor of the interior of the home, which was littered with holes and cracks.

• We also removed a 6 by 10 ft bee hive which was located a few feet from the front porch.

• We repainted the home

• We removed the excess vegetation around the home, mowed the lawn and installed a new garden

• We also provided the two senior citizens with a Winn Dixie gift card, to enable them to have a proper Thanksgiving Dinner

2. In November 2009 we assisted the city of Hialeah Gardens, with providing Thanksgiving baskets to 750 low income families and seniors.

• In November 2010 our organization collaborated with the city of Hialeah Gardens, to provide over 750 Thanksgiving baskets to low income families and seniors in the city of Hialeah Gardens. Our organization provided the man power in the form of volunteers.

3. In February of 2010 we rebuild a mobile home for a Low income Single Mother and her 10 year old son, living in Courtly Mannor in Hialeah Gardens.

• We rebuild the roof which was in danger of collapse due to years of water damage.

• We reinforced the walls and support beams.

• We repaired the floor and installed flooring

• We repaired the walls, installed a new air-conditioning system

• The home was repainted the interior and exterior of the home, installed new lighting, repaired the plumbing system throughout the home and repaired the electrical system in the home.

• We furnished the entire home and installed a new kitchen with new appliances, as well as providing the family with a laptop for educational purposes for the child.

4. In April of 2010 we provided a homeless single mother with a two children in Broward County, with a place to live.

• We provided them with an apartment and two moths of rent.

• We furnished the apartment and provided them with clothing and basic needs.

• We provided them with funds, for her to be able to provide food for her and her children.

• We were also able to find a job for this single mother

5. Community Improvement Organization 2010 Food Initiative for low income families and seniors.

• From July 2010 our organization has collaborated with the Angel Food Network. In addition, have started paper work to work with Feeding South Florida, to provide food to low income families and seniors, at low to no cost.

6. 2010 Thanksgiving Event for low income families and seniors.

• In November 2010 our organization collaborated with the city of Hialeah Gardens, to provide over 850 Thanksgiving baskets to low income families and seniors in the city of Hialeah Gardens. Our organization provided the man power in the form of volunteers
